Some rain now on the frontside of this latest warm up wouldnt be a bad thing to bring the trib flows back up and add some color to the water. Oak Orchard "Big Boy" Tournaments-- 2021 dates Zane Smith of New Brighton PA with new LOC-leading salmon at 32.4-pounds. Steelhead have been there and more likely to trickle in. The beast was part of a triple. Johnson Creek had a nice bump in flows and got stained and guys reported some salmon on the move there. More upcoming windy systems produce stirred inshore water which releases river scent so expect more incoming big fish! Look for flows to hang in or drop back another notch toward medium in the near term. The medium to slightly high flows in the Oak are proving to be a nice draw for Kings. Back to some winter like weather and temps for now. So far thru today the heavier rains have been south of here and the trend looks like the Oak is on the rise while the smaller tribs are barely dropping or holding steady. A nice spate of water which is hanging on in the Oak and retreating in the other area smaller tribs back to the base Canal feed. Fish On! Orleans County Tourism Fishing pressure is real light I saw just one car on the Oak. The lake conditions could not have been better, we just needed to get them on some fish. Any future accumulating snow and melt may do that. Small and Largemouth Bass are also abundant, aggressive and eager to bend your rod. Then theres the building King numbers at the dam, fish numbers probably outpacing the creeling pressure to this point. Could be guys were finding easier fishing flows on the smaller waterways. Looks like a nice fishing window right now in those smaller tribs that normally might be frozen up this time of the season. Action reported pretty good around the Archers Club yesterday and then slower today. At this point rain or precipitation could help bring flows back up too. If theres significant rain ahead of or instead of the ice/snow, then trib flows could be on the rise and going off color. Bob!
